Illustration
My illustration practice began while I was studying at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in illustration. During that time my interest in concept art and graphic novels drove me to develop a practice that combines traditional ink brush drawing with digital painting. My current work centres around three main themes:
1) showcasing and celebrating biodiversity, particularly rare, endangered, and long extinct species.
2) visually representing evolutionary and ecological processes through illustration.
3) fictional creature designs incorporating speculative evolution.
Unfortunately, I am currently unable to take paid commissions due to my US visa status. However, my wife Kat is also an illustrator, and would be happy to help with your project. You can see her natural history illustrations on her Cara page, and reach out to her at katnekur.art@gmail.com
